BEFORE/AFTER EFFECTS OF NANO COATING PROTECTION
FAQs
PRODUCT
-
Ceramic coating will not only make your car shiny but it also provides optimal protection against scratches, bird droppings, dust, dirt build-up, weathering, rain stain, premature ageing and oxidation, and Harmful UV rays. Its super hydrophobic properties will keep your car clean and will stay clean longer.
-
PTFE-based sprays or commonly known for its trademark name - Teflon-based sprays. This kind of coating provides limited protection that it can hold up for a few months only.
SiO Boost Sprays. It is infused with silicon dioxide or Silica and sometimes with titanium dioxide which can penetrate most microscopic spaces that necessitates repair. It can last up to 6-8 months.
Nano Coatings. 9H Nano-Ceramic Coating is a highly concentrated formulation which is infused with SiO and TiO. It protects your car from most scratches and creates an extra smooth, shiny surface which slips off dust, dirt and liquids from accumulating. Do note that this coating is for professional use only. The more concentrated it is, the harder it is for a non-professional to use it.
-
Yes, definitely. Ceramic coating is versatile to protect a windshield or any other surfaces including the wheels, fiberglass, and glass. It will not even damage your car’s paintwork.
-
Absolutely! Ceramic coating can safeguard your vinyl from accidental spills, stains, oil/grime, and UV rays.
-
Every professional will check your car thoroughly for any imperfections and you will be informed before proceeding to the coating process.
-
While wax may shine a car’s paintwork, its luster won’t last. You will have to spend more time and more money to get your car waxed every month. Wax simply sits on your car’s surface without forming a chemical bond unlike the ceramic coating which provides a superior protection that lasts longer.
APPLICATION
-
Yes, it’s possible but not recommended. Considering the level of difficulty it has for applying, the training you have to undergo and facility requirements such as the equipment you have to purchase, doing it on your own is not practical. It would be time saving and cost effective if you let the trained and certified professionals do the car coating. The process requires strong attention to detail and a knowledge of how solvent based coatings work. So, applying it yourself is putting the quality at risk.
-
First, the paintwork is decontaminated in order to attain a good bond with the coating. Once it’s prepped, coatings are carefully applied one layer at a time until the exterior painted surfaces are fully covered. Then, wait for the curing period.
QUALITY
-
Coating should last two to five years with proper coating and maintenance. Ceramic coating is resistant to chemicals so it will not be washed out by strong car shampoos and cleaning chemicals and the only way to remove it is by abrasion.
-
No, ceramic coatings are scratch-resistant, not scratch proof. While it can protect your car against scratches, swirl marks, and wash marring, ceramic coatings still get rock chips but not as frequent as your clearcoat. In fact, no coating will prevent rock chips.
COST
-
In most cases, yes. Compared with a regular sealant or wax, ceramic coating provides a better surface protection from contaminants and minor scratches, water, and UV damage from the sun. It also makes your car easier to wash and clean.
-
It has a very wide range, it can be as low as $200, but typically good and reliable brands starts from S$650 onwards.
-
Ceramic coating costs more than the alternatives due to a number of reasons:
It stays longer than the other products.
It requires high-quality products that cost much more than a bottle of wax.
It is time consuming to apply.
It uses advanced technology.
It requires an expert to perform the process.
MAINTENANCE
-
Wash your car every two weeks (use ceramic body wash).
Use the Two-Bucket Method for washing instead of bringing your car to a drive through car washes.
Always Use a pH Neutral Car Shampoo.
Do not wash your car under the direct heat of the sun.
Use separate wash buckets and clean mitts.
Use the same SiO2 ceramic booster spray
Reapply coating quarterly.
Do annual coating inspection.
-
Wait 10-14 days before the first wash in order for the solvents to outgas and for the coating to fully cure. Otherwise, the impurities present in the tap water will destabilize the cross link bonds before they can fully form.
-
Avoid washing your car right after, parking outdoors in the sun, having bird droppings, and using any kind of chemically or mechanically abrasive on the paint.
-
That is a bad idea. The ceramic coat is designed to replace both. Applying ceramic coating over a wax will only create a water beading effect since wax is greasy and sticky, thus preventing the coating from bonding to the paint. Applying a wax over a coating will just hinder its ability to fully function. Wax tends to absorb contaminants such as dirt, dust, and tree sap which cause them to stick to the surface.
